Music always round me (2023)
SATB and piano (or strings) c.3 mins.
Based on lines from a poem by Walt Whitman, Music always round me is a lively celebration of the joy of communal music-making, focussing on the character of each of the individual choral voices, and on the excitement of working together, breathing together, and thinking together in harmony.
Music always round me is a movement from Alan Bullard’s cantata Endless Song, for SATB choir and strings (quartet, quintet, or orchestra), or piano which was commissioned and first performed by the Waltham Singers, with the Maggini String Quartet (plus double bass), conducted by Andrew Fardell.
