Unto us a Son is Given

Unto us a Son is Given (2018)
SATB (with a few divisions) unaccompanied

This gentle and richly expressive Christmas carol is a setting of the poem titled Unto us a Son is Given, by the nineteenth-century British poet, writer and editor Alice Meynell. Although not strictly part of the poem, the title is here used as an interlude between the verses, building up from unison the first time to joyful full choir the final time.

The carol was first performed by the Voce Chamber Choir, director Suzi Digby, at Grosvenor Chapel, London.
