Based on two traditional Hebridean poems, this gentle but expressive song tells of the guiding light of the new moon; the controller of the stars, of the seasons, and of the daily lives of the Scottish islanders.
It is available in two versions, for upper voices (SA) and for mixed choir (SATB) both with piano.
(New Moon is the fourth movement of Pictures of Night, a suite in five movements for SATB, optional youth choir, and piano.)
