Jerusalem will be without walls

Jerusalem will be without walls (2003)
SATB unaccompanied
This expressive anthem, first performed in Bury St. Edmunds cathedral by the URC choirs of the region, is set to an unusual Zachariah text revealing the celebratory vision of the new Jerusalem. Centred around a strong, flowing melody and punctuated with many glorious moments, choirs will find this a highly approachable and rewarding anthem.
“There is a calm and straightforward setting of the opening words, but then in the second verse – ‘I will be a wall of fire around it, says the Lord, and a glorious presence with it’ – the flames leap up and down in the music. The opening music and words return, but after the fire and glory they seem transformed.” – Church Music Quarterly
