Choristers of Flight

Choristers of Flight (1994)
Choral suite for SATB (with divisions) unaccompanied. Duration c. 11-12 minutes.
These settings of Hardy (The Darkling Thrush), Hopkins (The Windhover), and Bridges (from November) were first performed in their complete version in Chelmsford Cathedral by the Chamber Choir of Colchester Institute (director Ian Ray) and have since been performed at the Spitalfields Festival and recorded by the Elysian Singers (director Sam Laughton) on the CD Peacocks and Piranhas
`Well written and imaginative in their response to the poems, these settings fully deserve the attention of expert chamber choirs’ – Louis Halsey, Mastersinger magazine
`There is a strength here, an almost symphonic approach’ – David Twigg, Choir and Organ
