This choral suite tells something of Byron’s short but action-filled life through his poetry and his links with Newstead Abbey, the gothic pile which he inherited in his youth and which always had a fascination for him. Commissioned by and first performed (Southwell Minster, 15 June 2007) by The Newstead Abbey Singers, director Nicholas Thorpe, the work contains five movements.
